"Euphorie" by Peggy Hinaekian is a unique oil painting that displays unity. It depicts 2 women that are embracing each other in harmony with a hint of overlapping nude. This art holds many symbolism that truly brings this piece to life. An embracement can indicate support, comfort, and consolation, particularly where words are insufficient while also demonstrating affection and emotional warmth. A hint of nudity brought this piece together. Nudity holds many symbolism in a piece. Lack of clothing in an artistic context usually reflects societal standards in relation to morality and aesthetics. The body has always been a prime area of interest for artists. It is represented in statues and paintings with numerous nude depictions in antiquity that is often associated with ancient Greece and mythological themes. The naked body is viewed symbolically as an extension of complex metaphors. When the body is in its bare form, the artist has more creative freedom to express different emotions such as anger, tension, desperation and power as well as making it easier to express movement. From this we can see that this painting was well thought out, and many emotions displayed within the art itself can be well perceived by those who view it.
